Yinzi Kong, the violist, played a crucial role as one of the founding members of the Vega Quartet back in 1986 in Shanghai, China. Her remarkable quartet career spanned over 30 years, and she recently performed her last quartet concert at the Highlands-Cashiers Chamber Music Festival in NC this past July. We cherish the profound musical and personal experiences that we've shared throughout these past three decades.
It has truly been an incredible journey together, and we extend our heartfelt best wishes for her retirement and future adventures. As we bid farewell to one chapter, we are thrilled to welcome our new violist, Joseph Skerik, who will be joining our quartet as a full member starting this fall, 2023! After an extensive search for a musician who embodies both musical excellence and a profound passion for chamber music, we are delighted to have found Joseph to be the perfect fit.
We can’t wait to embark on this exciting new chapter together, and we know that Joseph’s unique artistry will enrich our musical journey in every way.
